Over the Years

Over the years in Providence I served on the Smith Hill Center Board (presently Capital City Community Center) and Smith Hill Community Development Corporation,  Diocesan School Board, St. Patrick Church School Board and Finance Committee. In 2000  I received a Providence Preservation Society Award for the Renaissance II Housing Rehabilitation Project on Goddard Street and in 2004 another PPS Award for the Mowry –Nicholson House Renovation on Brownell Street. Dunkin’ Brands Best In Class Award in 2012 for the store on Eddy Street in Providence.

Timeline:

1949 Born March 7 in Summit, NJ, the fourth child in four years. A sister would follow nine years later.

1967 Commenced life away from home in Short Hills, NJ  following graduation from the Pingry School.

1975 Denise agrees to marry me. Years of wandering and musings draw to a close and family life flowers.

1986 I become a partner with Charles Gaudet, Associates, Architects, Providence, RI. After our move to Providence in 1977 I complete my RISD B.F.A. and B. Arch. and internships. Denise completes her B.A. in Art History at UConn. Three children come in ’79,’82 and ’85. Our fourth child comes in 1989. All attend St. Patrick School where we are parishioners.

1998 Charles Gaudet passes away suddenly and I become Principal at Joseph Cornwall, Architect, Providence, RI.

2014 Close office at 206 Smith Street but keep my architectural license current.  Become more involved in local residential property management. 

2022 Announce candidacy for Providence City Council Ward 12.
